Finn and Jake are heading back to the Land of Ooo in an all-new animated adventure.
Cartoon Network Studios has announced that Adventure Time: Side Quests, a brand-new companion series to the beloved Adventure Time franchise, will make its international television debut on Monday, October 5, 2026, on Cartoon Network channels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Before its international rollout, the series will launch in the United States on June 29, 2026, streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
Produced by Cartoon Network Studios, Adventure Time: Side Quests takes viewers back to the early days of Finn and Jake's friendship, capturing the fun, energetic spirit of the original show's first seasons. The series follows young hero Finn and his magical dog Jake as they travel across Ooo on self-contained adventures filled with monsters, strange creatures, and joyful chaos - partying with cloud people and punching evil in the butt along the way.
The new series will feature the return of several fan-favorite characters, including Ice King, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline and BMO. Voice cast members John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, Hynden Walch, Olivia Olson and Niki Yang reprise their iconic roles, while Sasha Knight takes over as the voice of a younger Finn.
According to showrunner and executive producer Nate Cash, a longtime creative contributor to the original Adventure Time, Adventure Time: Side Quests is designed as a companion series rather than a continuation, focusing on standalone stories that can be enjoyed by both longtime fans and newcomers.
But the most notable news is that the series is scheduled to premiere globally on Cartoon Network on October 5, bringing Finn and Jake's latest adventures directly to linear television audiences throughout the region, the Cartoon Network CEE feed included. The series is also expected to arrive on HBO Max in international markets on the same day.
Adventure Time originally premiered on Cartoon Network in 2010 and became one of the network's most acclaimed modern animated series, earning Emmy, Peabody and Annie Awards during its run. Since the original series concluded in 2018, the franchise has expanded through projects such as mini-series Adventure Time: Distant Lands that spotlighted recurring characters in their own storylines, as well as full spin-off Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake featuring the gender-swapped versions of the two main characters which debuted in the third season of the original series. Side Quests marks the second official spin-off of the franchise and is the latest return to Ooo, promising a fresh collection of adventures featuring one of animation's most beloved duos.
Adventure Time: Side Quests is executive produced by Nate Cash, with Darrick Bachman serving as Story Editor. The series is directed by Victor Courtright and Niki Yang, while Nick Cross serves as Art Director. Original music for the series is composed by Matthew Janszen.
