Spring is coming, and so is a few new things to expect on CN. More exactly, only one set of premieres plus some special blocks:
- The channel's latest EMEA acquisition is coming this March to Cartoon Network everywhere. Goat Girl, another French import (which is also co-prodcued in Belgium and Ireland), will join the CEE feed's line-up on 14th March. Its premieres will be exclusively on weekends, airing Saturdays and Sundays at 11:45 CET (replacing part of Gumball's multiple bill morning block). Reruns will then air on weekdays, at 11:55 CET, along with a daily slot at 17:00 CET (in both cases also replacing from Gumball's showings). This premiere batch, consisting of the first 13 episodes of the show, will go on until 29th of the month. In the first day (on the 14th), three 11-minutes new episodes will air, while on the rest there will two segment premieres every day of the weekend. They basically treat the show just like they first did with Lana Longbeard, considering they are both acquisitions and are comissioned by WBD equally. However, there will be a catch with Goat Girl, which is way more unusual: basically, despite every episode being 11-minutes long, on the premiere slot they will air two segments one-after-another as normal, while on the reruns, well... they basically will have one single segment be aired in each showing, which means that in those cases one full normal slot will be basically shared in two segments of different shows each. Pretty surreal, no? And in both cases, two full slots (11:45 and 16:50 CET) will have one segment of Gumball followed right after by a single segment showing of Goat Girl. Plus on the premiere day, the third new episode will air at 12:15 CET in a slot which will be shared by a single Regular Show segment (the second slot of the normal double bill will air as normal). I mean, I actually did spot other instances where one show is followed right by another one with no break in-between, even if airing in separate slots, so at this point it won't be really that weird for some to see a two shows with only one ident airing in-between them.
- Girl Power Week, the block aired last year to celebrate International Woman's Day on 8th March, will return in 2026 as well. For one full week, between 2nd and 8th March, various episodes concentrated around female characters will be aired each day between 15:30 and 18:40 CET. More about that in a separate post.
- Clarence is going to have a new marathon dedicated all to him. Yes, that's right. On 28th and 29th March, Clarence Weekend will air from 12:40 till 16:20 CET and will consist of the best episodes from the show. After all these boring marathons with Gumball, it's nice to FINALLY have something fresh for a change. Even if it's still unoiriginal, still is good that another show gets the "Weekend Marathon" treatment. Plus, it won't be all-day long thus it won't be as bad as the non-stop Gumball blocks.
- Gumball will expand even more with additional slots, this time at least being temporarily. Between 2nd and 8th March, the original series will move its afternoon showing at 14:15 CET in a double bill, replacing TTG, because of the Girl Power Week taking over later on. After that, from the 9th, the respective slot will be taken back by Teen Titans Go while the rest of the afternoon's schedule goes back to normal.
- Lana Longbeard will lose its second showing per day at 16:50 CET, as from 16th March it will be replaced by the shared slot of Gumball and Goat Girl reruns. Lana will be left with just the morning slot at 09:45 CET.
- Adventure Time gets additional airtime!!!!!!!!!!! While it will continue to be shown in its usual primetime spot at 21:30 CET, from 16th March it will also start to be shown daily at 17:45 CET, in a decent evening time, replacing Clarence (which the latter in turn is reduced to a single slot at 17:20 CET). This is great. They are giving the show attention just like they started doing to Regular Show at the beginning of February, presumably as the new Side Quests show is also coming very soon from now. I am just glad both 2010s staples are out of the "restricted area" and are aknowledged by the EMEA team, even if only because of new spin-offs being produced. And I am sure that a promo will be made for this occasion, hinting that they finally realise that there are older kids who look forward to these kind of series. Yeah, while the channel still is behind its counterpart, the Western European feed, they are actually doing something with CEE as well and are making the best of what they can. Now, if only they will finally go beyond and air more than just the first five seasons of AT (though something tells me they won't be doing it anytime soon, just like they will keep repeating seasons 1-3 of RS for some more time...)

P.S. I don't know if I will watch and follow myself the new Goat Girl series. One silly acquisition, Lana Longbeard, is enough for me anyways.
